What a domain really costs

A new domain looks cheap for the first year. What you pay every year after is the real price, and it differs a lot between endings and registrars. Here is the lowest cost to keep each ending, read each week from the registrars' own price pages.

How to read this

Lowest total is the cheapest way to own the ending for that many years: first-year price plus each renewal, at the registrar named under it.

The bar shows renewal prices from the cheapest registrar (dot) to the dearest. A long bar means where you buy matters a lot.

Good to know

Some endings, like .ai, are sold two years at a time, and a few registrars require a multi-year purchase for their lowest first-year price. Open an ending to see the conditions.

How we collect prices

Each registrar's public price for a standard name, read weekly from its own site, in US dollars at the day's ECB rate; taxes not included unless the registrar shows them. An ending is listed when at least three registrars sell it. Premium and reserved names cost more, and prices change: the registrar's page is the final word. We don't sell domains and earn nothing from any registrar. A registrar can ask to be removed at hello@dnsdoctor.dev.
